Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza has said that Chairman Pakistan Olympic Association Arif Hassan Khan should resign from his post otherwise the government will suspend him.

The Federal Minister said that after the 18th amendment, sports is a provincial matter and it is the responsibility of the provinces.
He said that the government has a clear position that Chairman Pakistan Olympic Association Lieutenant General (retd) Arif Hassan should resign from his post, we should unite and raise our voice on this issue.
Dr Fehmida Mirza said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had decided to suspend her.
He said that it was important to determine the reasons for the current state of sports, why the previous governments ignored this issue, after the 18th amendment, a policy should have been formulated regarding cooperation between the federation and the provinces, the federation and the provinces. In the meantime, links are necessary for the promotion of sports, in this regard, the provincial sports minister has set up a committee.
The Federal Minister said that funds of Rs. 1 billion have been allocated for Pakistan Sports which are being spent on various items.
