Memorable moments of T20 World Cup

 The T20 World Cup will start on October 17 in the United Arab Emirates and the final will be played on November 14.

The T20 World Cup has been held since 2007, while the last T20 World Cup was played in 2016. In the short format 2016, the West Indies team made its name. The T20 World Cup started in 2007, with the first T20 event being India, 2009 Pakistan, 2010 England, 2012-16 West Indies and 2014 Sri Lanka.

Six T20 World Cups have been played before this and some of the memorable moments are as follows.

Yuvraj Singh's 6 sixes

On the opening day of the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa, Bharat's Yuvraj Singh hit six sixes in an over by Stuart Broad in a group game against England in Durban. Which was a memorable moment as it had never happened before in the history of cricket. In the final of this T20 World Cup, India defeated Pakistan and won the first title.

Pakistan wins T20 World Cup 2009

Two years after losing to traditional rivals India in Johannesburg, Pakistan clinched the trophy by defeating Sri Lanka by eight wickets at Lord's. Pakistan restricted Sri Lanka to 138-6 while superstar Shahid Afridi played an unbeaten innings of 54 off 40 balls.

2014 World Cup and Sri Lanka's success

Sri Lanka were the champions of the 2014 T20 World Cup in Bangladesh but needed all the skill and control of spinner Rangana Herath to make it to the semi-finals. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 119 in the opening game against New Zealand, but Herath bowled out Brendon McCullum, Ross Taylor, Jimmy Nasheem, Luke Ronchi and Trent Bolt to limit the Kiwis to just 60 runs. In this match, Herath took 5 wickets for just 3 runs.

In the final of the 2016 T20 World Cup in Eden Gardens, India, Carlos Brathwaite, when the West Indies needed 19 runs in the last over, won the match by hitting England's Ben Stokes with 4 sixes in a row.

On the other hand, the ICC has announced the prize money for the T20 World Cup, according to which the winning team will receive 16 1.6 million. The runners-up will receive 8 800,000, while the losing team in the semi-finals will receive 4 4.4 million. The winning amount of the group matches of the teams will be different.

It should be noted that the ICC has started selling additional tickets for the T20 World Cup.
