Large subsidy on fertilizer is going to be given to farmers, Finance Minister

The Finance Minister said that the government would announce massive subsidy on DAP fertilizer to provide relief to farmers and the agricultural sector, adding that the oil supply agreement with Saudi Arabia was nearing completion.

Replying to a question in the National Assembly today (Wednesday) during Question Hour, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen said that the government was taking all possible steps for the development of the agricultural sector. If nothing has been done for wheat and cotton in 30 years, what will be the result? Shame on those who have been in power for 30 years, not 3.

In response to another question, the Finance Minister said that the economy has been growing for a long time and that is why imports are increasing.

Shaukat Tareen further said that Saudi Arabia is considering setting up an oil refinery in Pakistan while it will again supply oil to Pakistan on deferred payments, adding that the oil supply agreement with Saudi Arabia is nearing completion.

The federal finance minister also said that an attempt is being made to make him a senator. I assure him that this finance minister is not going anywhere. This finance minister does not even take salary.
