This is a matter of health, not of the economy, Murtaza Wahab

Sindh government spokesman Murtaza Wahab said that the federation did not say no to lockdown, it is a matter of health, not economy. If you can't convince people, don't make contradictory statements.

Talking to media in Karachi, Sindh government spokesman Murtaza Wahab said that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah himself spoke to Dr Faisal and Asad Umar on the issue of lockdown. Nowhere has the federation said that you should not apply lockdown. There were many statements regarding the lockdown. Those sitting in Islamabad cannot understand the ground realities of Karachi.

"If you can't convince people about lockdowns and vaccines, don't make contradictory statements," he said. From June 26 to July 31, Corona cases increased by 5%. Hospitals in Karachi have started filling up with patients. It's a matter of health, don't make it an economy.

Murtaza Wahab further said that the lockdown was decided in consultation with the doctors. It was decided that the SIM of those who did not get vaccinated would be blocked. Since the government's announcement, people have turned to the vaccine, with a large number of first-dose and second-dose people turning to the expo center. The number of vaccinations increased significantly in 2 to 3 days.

Regarding the lockdown in Karachi, he said that action would be taken against any police officer who would do wrong, action would also be taken against those who allowed him to work for money. 95% of the people in the police have been vaccinated. Wherever the administration does wrong, action will be taken against them.

According to Murtaza Wahab, public transport will be allowed to reach the vaccination center. They want people out of their homes just to get vaccinated. Institutions that have been 100 percent vaccinated will be allowed to operate.
