The water shortfall has reduced, the provinces have started getting extra water

 The Authority (IRSA) has said that the inflow of water in the rivers has increased by 24%, keeping in view the situation, it has increased the share of the provinces.


According to IRSA spokesperson, the authority met in Islamabad to review the water situation in the country. It was informed in the meeting that the inflow of water in the country's reservoirs on May 28 was 172,000 cusecs which increased to 225,000 cusecs on May 31.


In a statement issued after the water availability review meeting, IRSA said that the share of Punjab has been increased from 83,000 to 101,000 cusecs. The Punjab section has been increased by 18,000 cusecs.


According to the IRSA declaration, the share of Sindh has been increased from 74,000 to 109,000 cusecs. The Sindh section has been increased by 35,000 cusecs.


According to the IRSA statement, the water shortage has come down from 32% to 18%. Water fluctuations are being observed on a daily basis.


It may be recalled that last week, Irsa had said that the melting of ice in Skardu and northern areas was slowing down due to low temperatures and the provinces were apprised of the situation and directed to be careful in the use of water.
