Why does the PCB send their wives along with the players? Former chairman's revelation

There have always been differences between Pakistan and India, but these differences exist in all aspects, including cricket. The two countries have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13.

Despite the efforts of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Indian government is not interested, while the last time Pakistan visited India was during the tenure of the then Cricket Board Chairman Zaka Ashraf.

In an interview to the cricket website, former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf said that at that time the PCB had decided to send the players and their wives on a tour of India to avoid any accidents or disputes.

"In our time, when our team went on a tour of India, I had suggested that the wives of all the players would be with them," he said.

The decision was made so as not to create any controversy as the Indian media is always on the lookout for it while keeping wives together meant keeping an eye on these players as well.

The former chairman said that once we visited India, I met the then BCCI chairman Narayan Swamy Srinivasan.

In the meeting, he had promised that if foolproof security was provided, the Indian cricket team would be allowed to play on Pakistani soil.

He said that we should always try to restore relations with the Indian government regarding cricket.

Zaka Ashraf further said that our biggest advantage at the moment is that General Bajwa is present at the moment and he himself wants to see cricket develop in Pakistan.
