The South African captains came out in support of their team

 Defending South Africa, Dan Elgar said his teammates were refraining from using abusive language against Bangladesh. He defended his team against allegations of "unbearable sledging".



Dan Elgar said that if Bangladeshi players want to play at a high level, they need to be "tough".

Speaking to the media ahead of the second Test, which starts in St. George's Park on Friday, Elgar said that South Africa played a tough game but did not use abusive language against their opponents.

Bangladesh Cricket Operations chief Jalal Younis said on Tuesday that his board would lodge a formal complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) over what he called "biased umpiring" and "hosting" the host team.

South African Test captain Dan Elgar said: "This is Test cricket and when cricket is played at the Test level, I also take this game seriously and seriously.
