According to the British newspaper The Guardian, Noam Hepert, 44, works for a pharmaceutical company and was sentenced in 2013 that he could not leave Israel until 1999.

The court said she would have to pay دو 2,400 a month for her two children until they turned 18.

Noam Hepert's ex-wife is an Israeli citizen who immigrated to Israel from Australia in 2011, while her husband arrived in 2012.

"I have been locked up in Israel since 2013," said Noap Huppert.

"A lot of foreigners have been convicted because of the Israeli court system because they married an Israeli woman, and I'm saying this to help others," he said.

Prejudice against women is criticized in Israeli family law. In 2018, the Ministry of Finance stated that 43% of divorced fathers in Israel do not pay for their children and that women rely on government funding.

However, a 2017 Israeli Supreme Court ruling stated that in such cases, the responsibility for caring for children rests solely with the husband whose ex-wife earns more than him.
