T20 World Cup: India's worst defeat at the hands of the Kiwis

 In the 28th match of the T20 World Cup, New Zealand defeated India by 8 wickets after a one-sided contest, with which the hopes of the Indian team to reach the semi-finals were dashed.

In the match being played in Dubai, the captain of the Kiwi team Ken Williamson decided to field first after winning the toss. Batting first, the Indian team managed to score only 110 runs in the allotted 20 overs.

In pursuit of the target, the Kiwis started confidently but opener Martin Guptill returned to the pavilion with 20 runs while Daryl Mitchell lost the wicket with 49 runs.

Captain Ken Williamson played an unbeaten 21-run innings, which included a four.

Jaspreet Bhamrah took both the wickets of the innings for India while other bowlers failed to take any wicket.

Earlier, the Indian team had scored only 110 runs in the allotted 20 overs while all the Indian players, including captain Virat Kohli and Rehat Sharma, looked helpless in front of the Kiwi bowlers. The Indian openers were once again a picture of failure.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Kiwi captain Ken Williamson said that a change had been made in the squad, with Adam Milne being replaced by Devon Conway as part of the playing XI.
