Kabul: Where did the Afghan child who was handed over to the US military go?

The withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan in August saw chaos and disorder at Kabul airport, with several videos going viral on social media.

Due to the huge crowd at Kabul Airport on August 19, the parents handed over their child to the US military standing on the airport wall to save him from a possible accident, the image of which went viral on social media.

Mirza Ali Ahmadi, the father of the child seen in the incident and a security guard at the US embassy for 10 years, said he, along with his wife and five children, had gathered outside the main gate of Kabul airport that day. Ghafir was standing confused.

Mirza Ali Ahmadi says that suddenly one of the American soldiers standing on the wall of the airport asked him if he needed any help. So I handed my 22-month-old baby Sohail over to the soldier so that the baby would not be harmed in the chaos that ensued.

According to Arab media reports, when Ahmadi and his family arrived at the airport half an hour later, they did not see their child anywhere. The airport administration said that her child has been transferred to a special zone for children. However, upon reaching the zone, it was discovered that the place was vacant.

Ahmadi and his wife Suraya first left for Qatar with their children and then reached the US state of Texas via Germany.

The Afghan Refugee Support Group also assisted in locating the missing child, and US military officials alerted all relevant agencies, including all US military bases.

The child was last seen being handed over to a US soldier amid chaos at Kabul airport, but despite all efforts, no one has been able to find the child.
