China refuses to participate in India-hosted talks on Afghan conflict

A few days after Pakistan refused to participate in the regional security talks on Afghanistan hosted by India, China also refused to participate in the talks.

According to a foreign news agency, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenben, citing the schedule, said it was difficult to attend the talks.

"We have already informed India about this," he said during a regular press briefing.

According to Indian media reports, India will host regional security talks on Afghanistan in Delhi on November 10, which will be chaired by India's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.

According to the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the high-level talks will review measures to support the people of Afghanistan in addressing security-related challenges, promoting peace and security and stability.

The report added that seven countries had confirmed their participation in the talks, including Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that earlier this month, Pakistan had refused to participate in the talks hosted by India.

Pakistan's national security adviser Dr Moeed Yousuf had said in a press conference that he was not going to India to participate in the talks.
