IMF program suspended, World Bank and ADB withhold funds: Muftah Ismail

 KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader and former federal finance minister Muftah Ismail has claimed that the IMF program has been suspended while the World Bank and Asian Development Bank have withheld funds.


According to Hum News, addressing a press conference at the Muslim League Sindh House, he said that the government has set a target of Rs 610 billion for petroleum levy. He said that they would levy tax on petrol and diesel at the rate of Rs. 27 per liter.


The government is making the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), said Muftah Ismail, the party's central leader. He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture, and that his confession had been obtained through torture.

He said it would not be right for the United States to impose conditions on the IMF. He warned that strategic issues should not be included in economic affairs.

Muftah Ismail said that the government has reduced the tax on big seats to 12 percent. He said that an estimate of Rs. 570 billion has been made for the provinces which is wrong. He said that only Rs. 11 billion would be provided by the provinces.
