The Israeli Iron Dome system shot down its own drone

Leading military magazine has revealed that Israel's Iron Dome system has been targeting its own drones during clashes with Hamas.

According to a report by a foreign news agency, during the recent war in the Gaza Strip, the Iron Dome has also shot down Israeli army drones.

According to the magazine, the Israeli army has confirmed that the batteries of the Iron Dome air defense system shot down a spy drone of its "Sky Lark" model.

Al-Arabiya quoted the military magazine as saying that the Iron Dome was designed primarily to defend against rocket and missile attacks, but also that it has a limited ability to act against aircraft in close range.

According to the magazine, the Israeli army and the government are concerned about the downing of the plane. The Israeli army says that the investigation of the incident is underway.

It may be recalled that the Iron Dome air defense system came into use in 2010.

The Raphael Company, a state-of-the-art defense system, began building the Iron Dome in 2007 in cooperation with the Israeli military. It cost کروڑ 210 million.

The defense system consists of a radar machine, a tracking system and a battery of 20 missiles.
