Japanese billionaire urges wealthy elite to travel to space

"I would like to see as many people as possible and as many powerful and influential people as possible visit space," Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maizuo told a news conference after the flight on Wednesday.

He added that he would look at the earth differently and treat it differently.

Although the actual cost of the flight has not yet been confirmed, Maizua said the reports that he had spent  80 million on the trip were somewhat accurate.

Maizua, 46, told a news conference that 12 days in a laboratory revolving around the earth is not enough because it takes time to adapt to the environment.

He added that 20 days would be appropriate for such a flight.

Maizua's next goal is to take eight people with him on Elon Musk's orbiting space X space moon in 2023.

Maizua, along with his assistant Yuzo Hirano and astronaut Alexander Mesurkin, was launched to the International Space Station on December 8 and returned to Earth on December 20.

Maizua said the most memorable moment for him was when he saw the International Space Station from the Soyuz spacecraft before docking and when he entered after docking.

He acknowledged that space tourism is currently for the faint of heart.

He added that those who want to go on space travel have to be prepared for other challenges.
