The divorce was finalized by a judge in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday, the Associated Press reported, citing court records.

Action star Arnold Schwarzenegger and award-winning journalist Maria Schreiber were married in 1986.

However, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed one day during the marriage that he was the father of the child of a member of the household staff, after which Maria Schreiber filed for divorce in 2011.

The revelation caused a stir in the media, but the two quietly settled the divorce proceedings without blaming each other in court or in public.

However, it is not yet clear why the divorce process took so long. Financial matters between the two have not been brought to the fore.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Schreiber have four children who have all grown up and no arrangements have been made as to who will live with whom.

According to the settlement papers, neither of them has to take responsibility for the other, but both have the right to get it through the court in the future.

A message was sent to both lawyers to comment on the matter, to which no reply has been received.

It should be noted that Arnold Schwarzenegger, after a successful career as a bodybuilder, has made a lot of money by playing action roles in films like 'Terminator'.

He has also gained experience in the world of politics.

The state of California was plagued by economic problems and power outages under then-Governor Gray Davis. Voters then elected Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor in the 2003 election.

At that time, Arnold Schwarzenegger put his film career aside and served twice as governor.

After stepping down, he admitted that in the late 1990's he had a child with a staff member of the house, now 24 years old and his name is Joseph Baina.

Then in 2011 Maria Schreiber filed for divorce.

It should be noted that at the time when Arnold Schwarzenegger announced his candidacy for governor, Maria Schreiber was forced to resign from the NBC show "Dateline".

However, when she resigned as governor, Maria Schreiber returned to TV.
