Lahore Heavy rains have changed the map of the city

 Monsoon rains continue in Lahore and the city is inundated.

The rain that started on Friday continued on Saturday. WASA personnel are present in the field to clear the water accumulated on the roads due to rains. Drainage of rain water is being carried out with the help of heavy machinery.

 A WASA spokesperson said that all the disposal stations in the city are operational and the drainage operation will be completed in time.

MD Wasa has directed that all the staff should be present in the field till the completion of drainage process. Lakshmi Chowk, GPO and Lawrence Road have been cleared by 10 am on Saturday.

The highest rainfall of 121 mm was recorded in Lakshmi Chowk in Lahore. 102 mm in Farrukhabad, 95 mm in Jail Road, 107 mm in inner city water pond, 100 mm in Gulshan Ravi, 91 mm in Samanabad. Rainfall of 79 mm was recorded in Iqbal Town, 66 mm in Tajpura and 60 mm in Johar Town.

Two days of rains in Lahore have broken the heat and confinement. However, the floodwaters inundated the low-lying areas. Residents of Lakshmi Chowk, Bhati Gate, Circular Road and several other areas were affected by the rains. Traffic flow was also affected. The rains also disrupted power supply from several feeders.
