Who is the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir? Consultation of winner PTI continues

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which won a simple majority in the Azad Kashmir general elections, has begun consultations to elect a prime minister.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is circulating four names for the PM's job, including Barrister Sultan Mahmood, Vahdri Anwar-ul-Haq, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and Khawaja Farooq.

PTI Azad Kashmir party officials said that consultations were also being held on the nomination of the speaker, deputy speaker assembly, senior minister and cabinet members.

On the other hand, a non-political figure or technocrat is likely to be appointed for the president of Azad Kashmir.

It should be noted that the term of the incumbent President will expire in the last week of August while a meeting of the parliamentary party will be convened as soon as the newly elected members of the Assembly are notified.

It may be recalled that in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had won 25 seats while PPP emerged as the second largest party.

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, the PPP won nine seats, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz six, the Muslim Conference and the Jammu and Kashmir People's Party one each.
